A lot of small businesses, dental practices included, put some degree of time, money, and/or effort into their social media presence. However, judging the effectiveness of your social media efforts can be difficult to say the least.

The first tip, which is to be clear about your social media objectives, is probably the most important. As dentists, you can use your social media channels in many different ways to help your overall business.
Are you using it primarily to find new patients?
If so, make sure your strategy is able to capture and report any leads back to your social media pages. These efforts should include promoting your special offers and directing potential patients to your dental practice website to boost conversion chances.
Are you using social media to generate engagement in the community?
If so, you’ll want to make sure you highlight happy patients that have come through your office and strive to accumulate positive reviews. Additionally, you can post on happenings in the community that don’t necessarily have to do with dentistry. Earning trust and a good following can turn your patients into a strong referral base. Remember: 77% of referrals are now done digitally, especially on social media!
